Harting has introduced metric threaded versions of its Han range of heavy-duty connector hoods and housings.

Harting has introduced metric threaded versions of its Han range of heavy-duty connector hoods and housings The new connectors conform to the recently published international DIN EN50262 metric thread specification standard, and the company's existing PG Series (PG7 to PG48) will, in time, be replaced by the metric series M12 to M63

The adoption of metric threads greatly simplifies the understanding and specification of glands, since the product type description contains the thread dimension (eg M16 refers to 16 mm thread diameter).

Harting has produced a new catalogue as a supplement to its main heavy-duty Han connectors catalogue in order to make the change from PG threads to metric threads easier for the user.

The catalogue includes a crossreference table showing the correlation between the existing PG versions and the new metric types.
