Harting was originally set up in Germany in 1945 by Dietmar Harting's father, Wilhelm, and established its first UK sales operation at Biggin Hill, Kent, in 1980.
Rapid growth meant that the company was soon looking for larger premises, and in 1990 Harting relocated to modern premises in Northampton.

At the anniversary celebrations, Harting's 25 years in the UK were marked by the presentation of a vase to Dietmar and Margrit Harting by Steve Rawlins, Managing Director of Anglia, one of the company's top UK distributors.
