Harting recently celebrated its 25th anniversary in the UK with an event for staff and customers at which the guests of honour were the company's owners Dietmar Harting and his wife Margrit.

Interconnect technology group Harting recently celebrated its 25th anniversary in the UK with a celebration event for staff and customers at which the guests of honour were the company's owners Dietmar Harting and his wife Margrit.

The event was held at Rushton Hall, near Harting's UK headquarters in Northampton.

Harting was originally set up in Germany in 1945 by Dietmar Harting's father, Wilhelm, and established its first UK sales operation at Biggin Hill, Kent, in 1980.

Rapid growth meant that the company was soon looking for larger premises, and in 1990 Harting relocated to modern premises in Northampton.

Today, Harting employs over 100 people in the UK, and the original sales and marketing activities have been supplemented by a manufacturing operation, Harting Integrated Solutions, which produces backplanes based on Harting's connector technologies, and acts as a centre of excellence for the Harting Group worldwide.

At the anniversary celebrations, Harting's 25 years in the UK were marked by the presentation of a vase to Dietmar and Margrit Harting by Steve Rawlins, Managing Director of Anglia, one of the company's top UK distributors.
