Two new modules have been added to the Harting Han Modular industrial connector family to provide fast and easy interfacing to high-speed USB and FireWire bus systems.

The extension of the range to include these new modules enables secure industrial connections to be made using the most common PC interfaces: something that is increasingly required as modern data-processing techniques migrate from the office to the industrial environment.

The USB and FireWire modules both have a similar design in which the female part has a female connector on both the mating and wiring sides.

Termination is achieved by simply plugging a patch cable into the wiring side and securing it with a cable tie.

The male part is simply a plastic receptacle to accommodate a male patch lead that can also be secured by a cable tie.
