The XP2i digital test gauge manufactured by Crystal Engineering in the USA is now available exclusively in the UK from Swansea-based Haven Automation.

The company describes the instrument, made from stainless steel, as awesome; accuracy is specified in percentage of reading like a dead weight tester (+/-0.1% of reading from 20 to 100% of full scale), but unlike dead weight testers, it is not affected by ambient temperature (or local gravity).

The XP2i is fully temperature compensated over the entire temperature operating range and can also be used to measure vacuum.

The display is protected by a hard polycarbonate lens, and circuitry is mounted in elastomer for shock resistance, making the XP2i an extremely rugged test instrument.

An optional dual-line display allows for peak and live pressure to be shown simultaneously, and so it is an ideal instrument for relief valve testing.

Available in ranges from 15 to 10,000lb/in2 with selectable units of measurement, the XP2i will soon be available in a fully ATEX-approved version.
