Tom Walker and Sons uses Hawco's CSU Extra Cold refrigeration units to maintain air temperature at under 5C where cheese is stored.

Tom Walker and Sons, a wholesale cheese distributor and packer, has chosen to use Extra Cold condensing units supplied by Hawco Refrigeration at its Thorpe Leazes Farm cheese processing packaging plant near Stockton-on-Tees.

Tom Walker and Sons offers a range of around 400 cheeses.

The company uses Hawco's CSU Extra Cold refrigeration units to maintain air temperature at under 5C where cheese is stored and at under 10C where and cutting and packaging operations are being performed.

The CSU Extra Cold range of packaged condensing units feature the latest energy efficiency technology, cutting running costs.

The systems use R404a refrigerant for high, medium and low-temperature ranges and are directly balanced with slim, Lu-Ve evaporators.

Hawco offers its standard, CSU condensing systems in duty cycles 1.5 to 18kW from stock and can supply units up to 28kW on special order.

All units can be controlled with Hawco's range of control panels and controllers.

Extra Cold products are fabricated in painted, galvanised steel resulting in a durable weatherproof system that can be flat roof, wall or ground-mounted.

Their design suits them to situations where space is limited and aesthetics are important.

The units house the latest energy-efficient hermetic compressors and condenser coils with energy-efficient Zeil-EBM fans.
