Hayes Control Systems Ltd has expanded its Beckhoff Bus Coupler range with the UK launch of the BK7300 Bus Coupler.

The new coupler adds the Modbus protocol to the long list of field buses for which Beckhoff Bus Couplers are already available.

BK7300 supports both modes of transmission - ASCII mode and RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) mode - defined by the Modbus protocol.

The baudrate is variable adjustable, and directly adjustable without configuration software on the bus coupler.

BK7300 supports up to 64 electronic terminal blocks for any type of signal.

Modular design means that the terminal is independent of the fieldbus, and an unrestricted mixture of digital and analogue signals can be operated.

The bus coupler recognises any connected terminals, and automatically generates the affiliations of the inputs/outputs to the bytes of the process image.

The first input/output signal is inserted into the first bit of one word (LSB), beginning from the left.

The bus coupler inserts further signals in this word.

Inputs and outputs are clearly separated.

The launch of the BK7300 means that Beckhoff Bus Couplers from Hayes Control Systems are now available to seamlessly interface with the following fieldbuses: Modbus, Profibus-DP/FMS, InterBus-S, Lightbus, CANopen, Control-Net and DeviceNet.

As part of the Beckhoff Bus Terminal range, the BK7300 Bus Coupler ensures a more economically constructed approach to terminal boxes and control cabinets.

Any sensors and actuators with all types of signal relevant to automation technology can be connected directly without using other connection systems.

This significantly reduces the costs involved in controller design, and saves space, materials, work and money, making equipment and machines fitted with a Beckhoff Bus Terminal more competitive.
