Hayes Control Systems has introduced a diverse range of PCI-based Beckhoff PC Fieldbus cards for use with four Fieldbus systems: Lightbus, Profibus, CANopen and DeviceNet.

The new generation of interface cards has been designed to achieve optimal system performance, whatever Fieldbus platform is in use, and to provide easy integration into software PLCs such as the company's popular TwinCAT automation software.

The new range consists of eight interface cards: the FC2001 and FC2002 for use with the Beckhoff Lightbus system; the FC3101 and FC3102 for use with Profibus DP and MC, including the acyclical DPV1 services; the FC5101 and FC5102 versions for CANopen and the FC5201 and FC5202 for DeviceNet systems.

The cards can be configured for either one or two Fieldbus channels and offer extremely fast data exchange through short cycle times, for example, only 100ęs with the Profibus system.

Each card also features freely configurable bus management and the flexibility to handle process data communication in a choice of free running, synchronised, synchronised with delay or equidistant formats.

The high speed data exchange of the Fieldbus cards means they can be easily integrated into fast control systems for real time tasks, such as drive position control.

The cards are also ideal for use with software PLC systems such as TwinCAT I/O, which offers configuration tools and Windows NT drivers for programs in any desired high level language (DLLs) and for Visual Basic applications (ActiveX).

To ensure the Beckhoff interface cards can be used in the widest possible range of applications, they can also be accessed via an OPC server.

Furthermore, the interface cards can be expanded with an additional 32kbyte of NOVRAM if required.
