Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 27, 2006

Connect a single power supply and a motor, and bipolar chopper drive is ready to run.

Haydon has introduced the DCS4020 bipolar chopper drive for easy set up and use.

It is for development projects.

The user needs to connect a single power supply and a motor and the drive is ready to run.

Motor current is set using an on-board potentiometer.

No external current setting resistors are required.

This drive provides all basic motor controls including full or half stepping of bipolar steppers, directional control and output enable control.

An oscillator circuit is standard with an onboard speed control potentiometer.

External I/O signals allow complete remote control of all drive functions.

All electrical connectors have removable plugs incorporating screw type terminals.

It can efficiently operate stepper motors or linear actuators to their peak performance.
