Leadscrews promise improved axial system stiffness

A HaydonKerk Motion Solutions product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 27, 2006

A new line of leadscrew assemblies combines a broad offering of Acme leadscrews, advanced coatings and the most technically advanced antibacklash nuts available in the market.

Haydon has added leadscrew assemblies to its extensive line of linear motion products.

Haydon's new line of leadscrew assemblies combines a broad offering of Acme leadscrews, advanced coatings and the most technically advanced antibacklash nuts available in the market.

These products provide designers with improved axial system stiffness.

Haydon offers a comprehensive selection of Acme leadscrews manufactured from 303 stainless steel, produced with Haydon's proprietary precision rolling process and the industry's tightest lead accuracy.

The leadscrews are also available with Haydon's own Black Ice coating, a specially developed PTFE coating process, which eliminates the flaking that commonly occurs with other PTFE coatings used in today's marketplace.

The leadscrews are available in diameters ranging from 0.1875 to 0.375in.

For each diameter there are a wide variety of leads available.

The antibacklash nuts are ideal for applications that require precise positioning as they eliminate the minimal backlash between the lead screw and nut interface.

The nuts are manufactured from a proprietary self-lubricating polyacetal that, when combined with our precision rolled stainless steel leadscrews, provides low drag torque and smooth operation throughout the life of the assembly.

When supplied from the factory with Haydon's standard lubricant these nuts are designed to operate for the life of the application without relubrication.

They can also be operated without lubrication when combined with Haydon's Black Ice coated screws.

Three antibacklash styles are available as well as a new low profile freewheeling design.

The new nuts are available with a thread mount and are easily customisable with a variety of standard or special flange configurations.

These nuts are available in a wide range of diameters and leads.
