Haydonkerk Motion Solutions, a manufacturer of non-ball lead screws, is offering Kerk NTB Series anti-backlash lead screw assemblies.
The assembly's compact design means that it can be easily modified for custom applications, according to the company.
The NTB Series has been used to inject glue onto chips in the semiconductor industry and has served as a design solution for medical design and device applications.
Using the Kerk patented take-up mechanism, the NTB Series maintains axial stiffness while system torque is held to a minimum, providing smooth operation and long life throughout its load and speed range.
The assembly of the NTB Series has eliminated the need to highly preload the nut to compensate for load.
Haydonkerk's NTB Series is flexible in terms of material; customers can choose the material that best suits their particular application.
In addition, it is claimed that the NTB Series does not force manufacturers to increase device size, as it is designed to fit in tight spaces and ensures optimum manufacturing efficiency.
The nut is manufactured with a self-lubricating polyacetal, designed to run efficiently on Haydonkerk's precision-rolled shafting.
The screws are 303 stainless and are available with Haydonkerk's proprietary long-life Kerkote TFE coating, which eliminates the need for external lubrication and maintenance.
Available with a triangular flange, round flange or thread mount, the NTB Series can handle a dynamic load of up to 200lbf.
The assembly is available in a variety of diameters and lengths.
