Hibbitt, Karlsson and Sorensen (HKS), maker of the Abaqus suite of software for advanced mechanical simulation, has appointed Dr Ken Short to the position of Vice President of Marketing.

Hibbitt, Karlsson and Sorensen (HKS), maker of the Abaqus suite of software for advanced mechanical simulation, has appointed Dr Ken Short to the position of Vice President of Marketing.

In this role, Dr Short will be responsible for the continued growth and direction of the company's marketing and product management functions.

Dr Short comes to HKS with over a decade of engineering, marketing and business development experience in the mechanical simulation area.

He has held a variety of positions with organisations including Rolls-Royce, PDA, Rasna and PTC.

Most recently, Dr Short served as Vice President, Technical Marketing at PTC and was responsible for Pro/Mechanica and Pro/Engineer simulation products.

He holds a BEng in civil engineering from the University of Wales and a PhD in Biomechanics from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland.
