KTM Sportmotorcycle is using Abaqus software to evaluate thermal behaviour, noise and vibration, structural performance of assemblies fatigue on its Superbike RC8.

KTM Sportmotorcycle is using Abaqus Unified finite element analysis (FEA) software from Simulia to evaluate product performance and reliability Gunther Hager, R and D Teamleader Engine Structural Analysis, KTM Sportmotorcycle said "For the launch of our new Superbike RC8, which will be available to the market in the spring of 2008, we are using Abaqus software to evaluate thermal behaviour, noise and vibration, structural performance of assemblies and stress-based fatigue"

"This integrated simulation process gives us a better understanding of the physical behaviour of our products during the design phase".

KTM Sportmotorcycle is using Abaqus Unified FEA software for all applications in engine and chassis development.

The software is used to analyse the stiffness and flexibility of vehicle frames and engine systems, including gaskets, pistons and headblocks.

KTM is also using AVL Excite to study crankshaft dynamics that influence noise and vibration.

"Our Unified FEA solutions help high-performance companies like KTM Sportmotorcycle develop innovative and market-winning products", Ken Short, Vice President Simulia Strategy And Marketing, Dassault Systemes, said.

"The use of our realistic simulation technology to evaluate the full range of physical attributes ensures that our customers get the best performing products to market on time and on budget".
