HBM has increased its range of industrial measuring amplifiers with the launch of the programmable MP80 (DP) to simplify understanding of the functional relationship between two measured signals.

The MP80 (DP) provides the functionality of two measuring amplifiers and a small control device, to help in many fields of production technology where it is necessary to prove the relationship between two signals.

The MP80 (DP) is distinguished from conventional amplifiers by its CoDeSys IEC61131-3 program from 3S-Soft.

This enables test and control sequences, and further signal conditioning, such as mathematical operations, to be achieved inside the amplifier rather than needing any ancillary equipment, such as a PC.

The MP80 (DP)'s measuring kernel comprises two carrier frequency amplifiers operating synchronously and in parallel.

A special gate array developed by HBM uses the patented MPDM method and ensures fast sensor signal digitisation at a high resolution.

All common transducer types, ranging from strain-gage and inductive transducers through 10V signals and incremental transmitters to SSI transducers, can be connected to the MP80 (DP).

Signal conditioning and output via an interface is the standard application.

If evaluation or computation is required, various functions can be loaded from a library or individual test procedures can be created.

Standardised CANopen, Profibus DP interfaces or digital I/Os permit connectivity to any automation system.

The integrated Windows software ensures that programming of the fully computer-controlled MP80 (DP) is simplified thus enabling tasks to be solved quickly.
