Transducer extends range to smaller forces

Small tensile and compressive forces can now be measured accurately with the addition of two models to HBM's U9B series of force transducers.

The latest models have nominal (rated) forces of 0.5 and 1kN.

They extend the series to seven models with nominal (rated) forces from 0.5 to 50kN.

The U9B force transducer has been designed to meet the trend in industry for increasingly small products that frequently means very small forces need to be measured precisely, and to overcome the associated problem of how to integrate force transducers into the production process, especially where mounting space is confined.

Forces are transferred to the U9B via threaded bolts; maintenance-free knuckle eyes are provided as optional mounting accessories.

The U9B force transducer complements HBM's range of press-fit products for industrial applications that includes displacement transducers and press-fit electronics.

HBM also makes the C9B miniature force transducer with the same measuring ranges for measuring pure compressive forces.
