HBM has developed the PE300 digital pressure gauge from its Digibar II family to meet the demands of modern diesel engines by providing an additional nominal (rated) measuring range of up to 2000bar.

Developments of the common rail system for diesel engine injection mean that pressures of about 1600bar are increasingly common and wider pressure ranges are needed to meet these more demanding requirements.

Users can chose between nominal (rated) measuring ranges in steps from 0-100mbar to 0-2000bar.

An extensive range of functions includes: two limit switches; trend indicator; and maximum pointer function.

An optional limit-value relay board is also available.

The developments allow remote control as part of a fully automated system and the on-site display option is retained.

The PE300 is set up and operated by a user-friendly display and three keys.

Checks during the setup procedure cause alarm symbols to appear if inconsistent settings are input.

The multifunction display includes: a five-digit measurement display; trend indicator; minimum and maximum values; graph of pressure values in bar; menu block; and warning symbols.

The Digibar II can be optimised for any pressure measurement task.

The special construction of the PE300's measuring element, and the G0.75 Form D pressure connection piece, are made from corrosion resistant steels, 1.4542 and 1.4301, to ensure maintenance-free operation.

The thin-film strain gauge technology ensures high long-term stability.

Separating diaphragms or pressure-transmitting filling liquids are not needed.

Every PE300 is subjected to a test pressure at 150% of the rated maximum during production.

The PE300 combines the functionality of an external (8 to 30V) pressure transmitter and a battery-powered gauge pressure transducer and therefore can replace conventional manometers and pressure measurement transmitters.
