Load cells protected against side loads

The HLC series of load cells from HBM has been improved by increasing the side load sensitivity.

The HLC series of load cells from HBM has been improved by increasing the side load sensitivity.

To further help end-users the HLC series is now available in two versions to offer users a wide choice when designing a weighing system.

Version A load cells are fitted with a threaded bore for fastening the load introduction pieces.

Version B has a through hole with counter bore into which the load introduction piece is inserted.

The correct choice of load introduction piece should be used with the appropriate design and HBM recommends the use of its own components, such as: a pendle swivel foot - for platforms and vessels; elastomer bearings - to absorb disturbing vibrations; or the tank weigh module to ensure accurate weighing.

The improved HLC series is available with nominal loads of 0.22, 0.55, 1.1, 1.76, 2, 2.2 and 4.4t.

The load cells are hermetically sealed to IP68 and made from stainless steel, ideal for use in harsh environments and outdoor installation.

They conform with EMC requirements to EN45501 and comply with OIML R60 regulations up to 3000 divisions.

As an option the HLC series is available in an EEx ib IIC T4 explosionproof version.

HLC load cells are designed for industrial applications such as vessel and silo weighing, platform scales and weighing systems for palette lift trucks.
