Four geometries added to strain gauge range

A HBM UK product story

Strain gauges made from flexible polyimide carrier material with constant measuring grids are for robust and easy-to-handle experimental stress analysis applications.

HBM has extended its Y series of strain gauges with four more geometries.

The Y strain gauges are made from flexible polyimide carrier material with constant measuring grids and are for robust and easy-to-handle experimental stress analysis applications.

The LY7x linear strain gauge is for use in material testing applications.

The integrated, laterally arranged connection points facilitate installation and wiring.

In material testing machines with little space, the laterally arranged wiring can be quickly connected to save time.

The XY7x T-rosette is frequently connected in a half or full bridge and integrated into the Wheatstone bridge circuit.

It is delivered with both measuring grids already electrically connected at one point saving the user connection work and installation time.

The Y series also includes two strain gauge chains with integrated solder terminals for determining a strain gradient.

The KY8x strain gauge chain has 10 measuring grids and one compensating strain gauge in parallel to the chain axis while the KY9x strain gauge chain has 10 measuring grids and one compensating strain gauge vertical to the chain axis.

The Y strain gauge chains shorten the installation time compared with equivalent strain gauge chains with leads that require the fitting of additional solder terminals.
