Modules measure mass of tank contents

A HBM UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 15, 2007

Weighing modules enable the mass of tank contents to be determined precisely, quickly and conveniently.

HBM's C16 weighing modules for gravimetric level measurement in tanks enable the contents' mass to be determined precisely, quickly and conveniently.

The modules are suitable for many applications, including building material tanks or tanks for fluids or gases.

The weighing modules are maintenance free and are available in two versions: electrogalvanised or stainless steel.

Both versions come with integrated stay rods to resist horizontal forces typically occurring as a result of wind forces.

Antiliftoff devices that can be easily installed by the user are available if required.

The module's measuring core is the self-restoring C16 pendulum load cell available in different versions.

Typical options are: D1, C3 or C4 accuracy class per OIML; ATEX95 zones 1+21, zones 2+22; FM approval (explosion protection for USA); overvoltage protection; and digital output.

The weighing modules are available with maximum capacities ranging from 20 to 200t.

They can be integrated into tanks of up to about 1200t; depending on the design, and legal-for-trade applications are possible.

An independent TUV body has certified the permissible mechanical data per DIN18800.
