Transducers suit near-infinite resolution

A HBM UK product story

The WA series of inductive displacement transducers are designed to give outstanding mechanical robustness in all test conditions.

HBM has launched the compact WA and WI series of inductive displacement transducers for measurements with close to infinite resolution, 80mV/V sensitivity and IP 67 protection.

The WA series of inductive displacement transducers are designed to give outstanding mechanical robustness in all test conditions.

The series has been designed with short overall lengths; the maximum measuring length is up to 500mm.

A standard accuracy of 0.2% can be obtained because the transducers use HBM's WA quarter-bridge transducers with their optional 0.5-10V voltage output.

All the electronics are integrated in the connection cable as a fully encapsulated WA-Electronic module.

The WA series is mainly intended for automobile and railcar construction because the bifilar temperature compensation makes them insensitive to temperature variations.

The complementary WI series of inductive half-bridge displacement transducers are available with measuring lengths of 2.5mm, 5mm and 10mm and a shaft diameter of 8mm.

This compact design makes the transducers suitable for a wide range of applications where space limitations are a consideration.

The WI transducers have a linearity deviation of +/-0.2%.
