Universal amplifier suits all transducers

A HBM UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 5, 2007

Transducers fitted with TEDS technology are automatically recognised as soon as they are connected to QuantumX.

HBM's QuantumX universal amplifier has eight connectors, each of which independently recognises and supports all current transducer technologies.

In addition, integrated Advanced Plug and Measure (APM) technology reduces test setup configuration to a few minutes.

The compact design of QuantumX makes it easy to integrate into test equipment where space is limited.

Each of the eight universal connectors on the device front supports data acquisition with 24bit resolution.

The instrument is compatible with transducers based on a wide range of technologies such as strain gauges or inductive full and half bridges, voltage, current, thermocouples, resistance thermometers as well as frequency or pulse counters.

Up to 128 CAN signals can be acquired on one connector.

Transducers fitted with TEDS technology are automatically recognised as soon as they are connected to QuantumX, while transducers without TEDS are easily configured using the expandable sensor database.

The number of QuantumX channels can be individually increased to match the application, either as a compact bundle of devices joined together using Clip technology, or distributed via Ethernet or Firewire to PC.

HBM's catmanAP software for data acquisition and analysis is optimally matched to the new amplifier.

Thanks to the API programming interface and the LabView driver, users of other DAQ software can also benefit from QuantumX advantages.
