TIM 40 adds fieldbus support to T40 torque flange

A HBM UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 17, 2008

HBM has introduced the TIM 40 module (Torque Interface Module) to allow its T40 torque flange to connect to fieldbus interfaces such as Canopen and ProfibusDP.

The TIM 40 module integrates into Ethernet networks, allowing outputs of about 40,000 values a second.

The TIM 40 module integrates into Ethernet networks allowing outputs of about 40,000 values per second.

The TIM 40 also offers functions such as scaling and filtering of measured values and zeroing of the torque signal.

The module upgrades the T40 torque flange with additional analogue and digital interfaces (0...10V, 4...20 mA) to complement the voltage and frequency outputs already available in the torque flange.

The interface module is mounted on standard DIN rails and can be directly mounted on a test bench.

An optional housing protects to IP67.

The combination of the TIM 40 and the T40 torque flange is mainly used in the automotive industry in motor, transmission or chassis test benches.

Other typical applications include the testing of electric motors, pumps and generators.
