Software benefits large-scale structural analysis

A HBM UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 12, 2009

HBM has launched version 5.0 of its Catman Enterprise measurement software for structural analysis of large-scale measurement systems, which can now acquire up to 20,000 channels simultaneously.

The latest version extends the use of Catman Enterprise 5.0 from aerospace applications to include experimental stress analysis of other large mechanical structures such as ships and vehicles.

The software has been designed for ease of use and allows users to set up measurements quickly.

The testing of any strain gauge measuring points can be automated to ensure amplifiers are set up for maximum efficiency.

Data is recorded using a multi-channel data server during measurement, while the system's client-server architecture enables several clients to be simultaneously accessed online, including real-time data visualisation.

Extensive trigger functions are available that can be set in advance and include functions such as starting a fast measurement or sending emails at particular points during the measurement.

Special online computations for experimental structural analysis are included in the software.

The open architecture - accessed through an integrated script language and an ActiveX interface - enables users to integrate additional customised functions.

More information and a demo version of the software are available via the HBM website.
