T12 digital transducer targets lower torques

A HBM UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jun 29, 2009

HBM has extended its T12 series of digital torque transducers with models for the lower measuring ranges of 100Nm and 200Nm.

This means that, for example, measuring friction performance can benefit from the high accuracy and dynamic performance of the T12.

Typical application areas for the digital torque transducers are mainly in the automotive industry for engine, gear or chassis test benches.

The T12 also delivers precise and secure measurement results when testing electric motors, pumps and generators.

The torque transducers can also be used, depending on size, for torques of up to 18,000rpm.

The accuracy class is 0.03 over the entire measuring frequency range of 0Hz to 6kHz.

Data transmission between the rotor and stator is implemented with the T12 dialogue.

This enables secure and error-free measured value acquisition and transmission, even under difficult ambient conditions, for example, electromagnetic interference or fluctuating temperatures.

Digitalisation is implemented with a resolution of 19 bit.

The T12 is able to connect to existing automation systems, such as PLCs.

The measurement data is available via either a voltage or frequency output or via the fieldbuses CAN-open and Profibus DP with up to 4,800 measured values per second output.
