A Swiss distributor for a UK manufacturing company celebrates ten years of successful trading in 2004, a result, it believes of a no compromise policy on product quality.
Despite increased competition and an uncertain economy, a Swiss distributor for a UK manufacturing company celebrates ten years of successful trading in 2004, a result, it believes of a no compromise policy on product quality.
Based in Hunenberg, near Luzern, HFT Fasteners provides a number of fastening solutions for a variety of industrial applications, particularly in the rail, transportation and heating and ventilation markets.
However, its most consistent selling fasteners are the Huck branded range as supplied by Alcoa Fastening Systems (AFS).
Sales Manager Ferruccio Bay has over 20 years experience in the industry, and started with HFT in 1994 following 10 years working for Huck's European organisation.
He said: "We only operate in Switzerland, which is a relatively small territory and although selling has become a bigger challenge due to cheaper alternatives offered by more competitors, once customers have experienced the quality of product, technical support and after care service from HFT and AFS, they stay with us".
HFT's variety of applications for Huck fasteners is well represented by the 102-year-old Jungfrau mountain railway in Berner Oberland, Switzerland.
Project engineer Tensol Rail required a secure fastening system for the railway's new gear rack.
HFT suggested the C50L Huckbolt and after a series of successful rigorous tests, won the contract.
Bay continues: "The Jungfrau mountain railway highlights the versatility of Huck fasteners".
"Very steep gradients lead to the highest railway station in the world, so we had to make sure they were presented with the best solution - where safety and reliability were the most important priority".
Ludwig Frank, AFS Customer Manager, Switzerland said: "I would like to congratulate HFT in their 10th year of business".
"Determined not to be beaten by cheap lower quality alternatives, they and their customers know that maintenance free, quality long-life joints assembled with Huck brand fasteners ultimately result in lower a total cost - which is a guaranteed return on investment".
