Fasteners aid French trailer curtain production
A manufacturing business based in Northern France has saved production time using fasteners developed by a UK engineering company.
SFS was one of 22 businesses who took advantage of an investment initiative through the North West Development Agency's (NWDA) Supply Chain Recovery Programme, when Alstom, a large original equipment manufacturer (OEM), moved its plant from Preston in 2004.
Specific to its supply chain, and one of five similar projects undertaken by NWDA to date, the bespoke funding allowed SFS to develop a new corporate image including an updated online presence at www.specialistfastenersystems.co.uk, rebranded marketing material, signage, advertising and stationery, as well as invest in a new IT system.
Gywn Adamson, General Manager at SFS, who also recently gained UKAS ISO9001:2000 accreditation, said: "Increasingly, research by engineers and designers looking for better fastening solutions is carried out through the Internet".
"The new SFS website contains all the necessary details to help them understand how our systems work".
"We also have the facility to produce quality brochures and will be undertaking a number of direct mail campaigns soon." Commenting on the prospects for SFS, Martin Toomey, Project Champion at NWDA said: "The Supply Chain Recovery Programme is designed to help out and safeguard SMEs where the majority of their trade was with one or a few original equipment manufacturers".
"Although individually tailored, the emphasis is on marketing and sales and the joint project plan with SFS has provided an excellent outcome".
"We anticipate the new website and marketing materials to positively affect the company's bottom line". Request free introductory details about products from Alcoa Fastening Systems ...
