Established in 1956 and employing 30 people, Hyde (Manchester) based Meredith and Eyre manufacture trailers and axles for the UK and Ireland market.
Diversifying in recent years from the compressor chassis business, the new 2012 range of 500 and 750kg trailers contain a number of Huck fasteners throughout including Floortight, Magna-Lok and HuckLok.
With a variety of uses from transporting quad bikes and small plant equipment, to sit-on grass cutters and painting and decorating materials, and 12 models in the range, the 2 x 1.2m trailers include optional mesh sides, tailgate, ramp, prop stands and jockey wheels.
Keith Wolstenholme, Technical Manager at Meredith and Eyre, said: "We decided at the design stage to build the new trailers using fasteners systems and started researching suppliers".
"After a visit from Gwyn at SFS where he explained installation and application in greater detail we chose Huck fasteners and tooling".
"The chassis which had previously been galvanised off-site are now assembled using pregalvanised sheets, which saves considerable time".
"The trailers have been well received by our dealers and their customers and if all goes well then we may well use Huck fasteners in more of our existing products".
Gwyn Adamson, General Manager at SFS, said: "The three Huck fasteners are a perfect combination for use in Meredith and Eyre's new trailers, which as early indications show are proving to be very popular".
