An Alcoa Fastening Systems product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 31, 2007

A dramatic sales increase through one of their fastest growing distributors in the region is highlighting the growing demand for a UK manufacturer's products in Eastern Europe.

The Recoil product line from Alcoa Fastening Systems (AFS), is used to repair damaged or create strong new screw threads for a variety of applications in the automotive, engineering, maintenance and repair industries.

Predominantly a distributor to automotive, aircraft and machine maintenance manufacturers, opportunities are opening up for IMP in the Czech Republic and Hungary.

Commenting on IMP's development, Managing Director Miroslav Petras said: "My brother and I started our business trading from a converted bedroom with not much money but a lot of engineering experience, energy and enthusiasm".

"Within a year we moved to a new office where we now have thirteen employees".

"Recoil was IMP's first product line back in 1997 and our belief in its quality, ease of use and the numerous solutions provided to customers has contributed to our success".

"Recoil sales now account for 10% of IMP's turnover".

Piero Bruno, Recoil Product Manager at AFS, said: "IMP's outstanding achievement is reflected in their recent sales figures, a potential we recognised in 2005 when they were presented with the award for fastest growing European Recoil distributor".

"The AFS distributor support package combined with their passion, technical knowledge and understanding in applying Recoil solutions to industry will guarantee IMP a successful future and continue to open up opportunities for AFS in Eastern Europe".
