A new compact, low-cost and reliable extended duty pressure switch is ideal for use in applications that have high pressure but require a low set point.

A new compact, low-cost and reliable extended duty pressure switch is ideal for use in applications that have high pressure but require a low set point.

The Hobbs brand 5000 Series extended duty pressure switches bring proven reliability where conditions usually require more costly switches to avoid early switch failures.

The new offering expands the capabilities of Honeywell's successful standard 5000 Series switches.

The 5000 Series extended duty pressure switches are designed for applications that have sudden pressure spikes and high system pressure - conditions common in transmissions, brakes, hydraulic systems, and air systems.

These 5000 Series switches are specifically designed to stand up to extended duty applications.

This switch is factory set, but can also be adjusted in the field.

It features a Kapton (polyimide) diaphragm for compatibility with a wide variety of fluids, and various terminations that form a tight seal when connected.

Among the design benefits are its durable construction, compact size, and enhanced set point integrity.

The 5000 Series extended duty switch has a burst rating of over 4000lb/in2, a significant increase from the 1250lb/in2 on the standard 5000 Series switches.

The switch is similar to other 5000 Series switches with a height of approximately 58.4mm and a diameter of 37.3mm.

This series has been strengthened with plated steel and screw machined components in a three-piece design to prevent cracking of the base.

Modifications to the effective area of the pressure cavity and size of the diaphragm button and diaphragm O-ring are what makes the switch capable of handling sudden pressure transients and high system pressures.

The modifications result in a low-cost compact switch with expanded capabilities from a successful and reliable product line.
