HSI has added a Size 34 noncaptive linear actuator to its growing hybrid motor line.

HSI has added a Size 34 noncaptive linear actuator to its growing hybrid motor line.

Joining the smaller size 14, 17 and size 23, the size 34 incorporates the same high performance and durable proven technology.

Built for long life (several million cycles) and superior performance, the size 34 linear actuator features engineering thermoplastics in the rotor drive nut and a stainless steel Acme lead screw.

With this patented design, quiet and maintenance free operation are ensured.

This noncaptive hybrid linear actuator is available in a wide variety of resolutions ranging from 0.0127 0.127mm per step and is the company's most powerful motor, delivering forces up to 227kg without compromising long life or cost.

Speeds exceed 7.62cm/s.

In a noncaptive linear actuator, the lead screw runs axially through the centre of the motor and must be restrained from rotating for proper operation.

This is normally accomplished by attaching the screw to a nonrotating member of the mechanical assembly.

As the internal threaded rotor rotates, the lead screw will move axially but will not rotate.

This design is especially suited for long linear travel requirements and applications where the lead screw is secured at both ends and the motor translates along the lead screw.

When incorporating the latter approach, the motor must be prevented from rotating.

Applications requiring precise positioning and rapid motion are best suited for this motor.

Typical applications include medical equipment, x-y tables, packaging equipment, industrial automation of any kind and many more.

This product is priced aggressively, and is ideal for replacements to improve performance and life or for incorporation into your next project.

In addition to standard configurations, HSI can custom design this motor to meet specific application requirements.
