BEI Kimco has appointed Heason Technologies Group of Chichester as exclusive UK distributor for its range of precision motion control products, including linear and rotary voice coil actuators

BEI Kimco has appointed Heason Technologies Group of Chichester as exclusive UK distributor for its range of precision motion control products.

Heason will be focusing their attention on the extensive range of linear and rotary voice coil actuators (VCA) on offer from BEI, which complement their existing line up of motion products and systems.

BEI Kimco, of San Marcos, California, USA is a long established company with extensive experience in supplying motion control solutions for the niche markets of medical equipment and semiconductor manufacturing systems.

VCAs are two-wire, non-commutated, direct drive, hysteresis-free and cog-free devices used for providing highly accurate linear and rotary motion with virtually infinite resolution (determined by encoder).

They have low electrical and mechanical time constants and high output power to weight and volume ratio, giving them high-dynamic performance and an exceptional ability to reach stop points with speed, accuracy and repeatability.

The linear actuators range from around 1 gram of force up to over 900 kg with strokes up to 100 mm, whilst the rotary actuators offer torques ranging from 5 mNm up to over 10Nm with strokes reaching 90 degrees.

In addition, with hundreds of computer models and simulations, BEI Kimco is able to quickly satisfy specific application requirements and provide rapid prototying.

"As a company specialising in motion control products and engineering positioning systems to match customer requirements, the BEI Kimco products will enable us to expand our expertise into the demanding market of biomechanics and offer even more to our customers in the electro-optics and semiconductor markets," says David Wheeler, Heason's Managing Director.
