CD-ROM simplifies actuator specification

A Heason Technology product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 18, 2003

A new CD-ROM from BEI Kimco Magnetics allows engineers to select the optimum voice coil actuator configurations for their applications.

Selecting the optimum voice coil actuator to solve a mechanical actuation problem involves many variable parameters.

Although these actuators are apparently simple, variations of mass, actuation force, distance to travel, type of motion and operational bandwidth are all interactive.

To assist design engineers, BEI Kimco Magnetics is making available a CD-ROM, which allows engineers to ascertain the best solution and select the optimum actuator configurations for their applications.

BEI Kimco produces the world's largest range of actuators, from 8 to 100mm diameter, from 1 to 100mm stroke, force from 0.1 to 5000N.

Different configurations are available, some including integral bearings and position feedback components.

The CD also includes details of the complete range with all necessary mechanical, dimensional and electrical details.

Copies are available free of charge from Heason Technologies - the UK representative for BEI Kimco Magnetics.
