Henkel Loctite Adhesives has developed a new low blooming activator for use with its range of cyanoacrylate adhesives.

Loctite 7458 accelerates the cure speed of the adhesive, enabling a wide range of materials to be bonded quickly and neatly.
The product has been specially formulated to minimise post-cure blooming while optimising bond strength.
It is particularly suited to instant adhesive applications where the appearance of the joint is critical.
The activator can be applied either before or after the adhesive to suit the assembly process.
It has a subtle odour and is fluorescent for easy detection.
Typical applications include loudspeaker bonding, packaging for cosmetics and the assembly of small plastic housings used for consumer electronics.
Loctite cyanoacrylate adhesives are fast curing, versatile and strong.
The comprehensive range covers general-purpose applications in a range of viscosities, including a gel for application to vertical surfaces or bonding larger gaps.
There are adhesives for high temperature use, for example on electrical equipment up to 120C, and also an ultra fast curing adhesive for high speed bonding of plastic and rubber.
For the bonding of flexible materials, Loctite 4850 and 4860 provide exceptional flexibility and high transparency, resulting in a neat and inconspicuous bond for products such as flexible seals and gaskets, industrial clothing and audio loudspeakers.
