SMEs need better occupational health support
The work of occupational health physicians is highly rated by organisations, but small and medium-sized businesses have little or no access to their support, according to a new HSE report.
The report is directly concerned with the violence management trainer and the associated systems that are deemed necessary for selecting and developing competent and confident trainers.
Key competencies necessary for the effective delivery of violence management training are identified, with subsequent recommendations.
The research was commissioned following the report 'A Safer Place to Work NHS 2003' published by the National Audit Office (NAO).
The NAO report found that there was a lack of evidence based information to support the process of selection, development and management of the trainers who provide violence and aggression management training within the healthcare sector.
