Ballscrew in drive for linear motion

HepcoMotion has developed a new ballscrew-driven version of its proven profile driven unit.

HepcoMotion has developed a new ballscrew-driven version of its proven profile driven unit The PSD120 has been introduced to meet increasing demand for a quality system with good all-round performance in a highly cost efficient, maintenance-free package

The HepcoMotion PSD120 linear drive unit is a versatile single or multi-axis system that combines Hepco's proven Herculane wheel technology with a ballscrew drive.

The integrated linear guide and ballscrew drive - accuracy class 7 - are housed in a high strength aluminium beam fitted with a continuous sealing strip to protect the internal mechanism.

The Herculane wheel technology allows excellent load capacity and durability with quiet operation, enabling the smooth low-friction movement of the externally mounted carriage plate.

The carriage has a high load capacity of 700N and is rated for speeds up to 1.6m/s.

To accommodate a range of applications, the PSD120 can be fitted with a choice of motor.

Hepco can supply AC motors, stepper and servo systems including optional holding brakes, encoders for positioning and inverter drives for power and control.

Connection to the customer's own motor and gearbox is also easy using one of several standard fixing kits available with the package.

The PSD120 units are available in a large range of stock beam lengths from 400 to 1500mm and ballscrew pitch sizes of 5, 10, 16 and 32mm.

Special lengths and pitch combinations are available to order and all units come pre-adjusted and lubricated; a leadscrew and nut option can also be specified.

Naturally, the PSD120 design allows for the easy construction of multi-axis configurations onto frames such as the HepcoMotion MCS machine building system.

A comprehensive range of mounting kits and accessories is available to facilitate this development. Request a free brochure from HepcoMotion ...
