Linear technology moves into new sectors

A HepcoMotion product story

Although the manufacturing sector is the principal market for HepcoMotion, its superior ability to guide, push, pull and lift loads has also found favour in other sectors too.

Although the manufacturing sector is the principal market for HepcoMotion its superior ability to guide, push, pull and lift loads has also found favour in other sectors too.

The need to open doors and elevate skylights smoothly, for example, are now important applications for HepcoMotion products and systems and it is to demonstrate its wide-ranging abilities in this field that the company has chosen to exhibit at Interbuild for the first time (23rd to 26th April 2006, UK NEC Stand 08-D12).

An application that has proved a perfect fit for HepcoMotion is the external blind actuation.

With the growing emphasis on efficient energy management many architects are incorporating external blind systems into the design of high-rise buildings to control light and heat levels automatically.

Many of these systems now feature HepcoMotion elero electromechanical linear actuators.

The elero range comprises six models and each has its own special features to cater for a wide range of application options.

Collectively the range is suitable for loads from 0.01 to 200kN.

These space-saving actuators provide real benefits over pneumatic and hydraulic alternatives including constant stroke speed and exact positioning.

Another focus at the show will be on stand-alone driven systems.

These units are either belt, screw or pneumatically operated covering all applications from low to high load at fast or slow speed.

If precision positioning is required ballscrew drives are available as are corrosive resistant versions.

The HepcoMotion PDU2 belt driven units give exceptional performance at a competitive price unmatched by other similarly sized belt products.

PDU2 benefits from Herculane wheel technology that provides a superior combination of load capacity, speed and low friction characteristics.

Designed to meet the needs of the lower precision, low cost applications PDU2 is noted for its exceptionally long, maintenance-free service life.

A double acting version of this product, the DAPDU2 is also in considerable demand for closing doors.

Proven to save hours in design and specification time, the HepcoMotion DLS linear positioning and transmission system is a complete off the shelf mechanical package.

The system comprises belt-driven linear modules, an AC motor/inverter package and range of compact planetary gearboxes for use with servo motors.

The automation of high loads in harsh environments is the purpose of the HepcoMotion HDLS heavy duty linear system.

Based around the rigid heavy-duty aluminium beam HDLS features zero-maintenance vee-guide linear slides and is another ready-to-fit solution.

Its steel reinforced timing belt allows forces of 7.35kN or greater.

Based around a cubic body and building block principle, the HepcoMotion ZIMM range of screw jacks provides extensive design options for each of the 12 sizes available.

Maximum lifting capabilities range from 250N to 1000kN.

Screw jacks can be configured to lift, lower, push or pull and have a wide variety of applications.

They can either be used singly or in multiples.
