Linear motion based on the vee principle
Bishop-Wisecarver's DualVee Motion Technology (DMT) is based on a double row angular contact bearing arrangement.
The relationship between HepcoMotion and Bishop-Wisecarver spans many decades.
The common denominator between the two companies is more than just linear motion however, it is linear motion based on the vee principle.
Bishop-Wisecarver's DualVee Motion Technology (DMT) is based on a double row angular contact bearing arrangement.
In common with HepcoMotion standard vee technology, DualVee uses opposing concentric and eccentric bushings that provide a simple but effective means of adjustment for free play and clearance between the track and guide wheels.
The rolling contact between wheel and track also provides a constant self-cleaning action.
DMT has been successfully employed in industrial linear guidance applications for over 30 years.
As an integral part of the HepcoMotion product programme it has proved a popular choice for anti-friction guidance mechanisms, typically in applications requiring two systems to be spaced separately as in machine door guarding systems, packaging and handling equipment.
In common with HepcoMotion, Bishop-Wisecarver has a continual development policy for its products enabling it to meet new market needs, and DMT is no exception.
Various new options in the DMT range address a wide spectrum of applications from light duty linear motion in clean rooms through to rugged transport systems.
The DMT product programme comprises individually selectable tracks, guide wheels and bushings, all of which have been enhanced by new sises and options.
Wheel capacities across the range have increased by up to 40% and one notable new addition is integral bushed wheels that reduce both component cost and assembly time.
Polymer overmoulded wheels may now be specified for low load, cost sensitive applications and also new to the range is Pristinox drilled stainless steel track, offering improved corrosion resistance.
A further choice is the new MinVee, a low cost miniature linear guidance system using polymer or steel wheels and the smallest double edged track.
Continuous development has also allowed Bishop-Wisecarver to improve the quality and performance of its UtiliTrak linear guideway.
Higher compactness has been achieved by the replacement of the original composite rail with a one-piece carbon steel construction that is both hardened and ground to provide a smooth running surface.
This new and improved product comes with three-, four- or five-wheel carriage assemblies that allow higher loads to be accommodated.
Quick to install and available on short lead times UtiliTrak is available in two series, SW for loads up to 16,800N and PW for light duty applications and loads up to 311N.
Where corrosion resistance is critical UtiliTrak can also be specified with a stainless steel composite rail and stainless steel DMT wheels with sealed bearings for high load requirements.
