EAME 2007 will provide a platform for the sector's businesses to present their skills and expertise and share experiences of successes and of overcoming challenges.

Key players in East Anglia's engineering and manufacturing sector are coming together at EAME 2007 (Exhibition of Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering) at Hethel Engineering Centre near Norwich on 13th September.

The overall objective of EAME 2007 is to help the engineering and manufacturing sector to continue to grow by maintaining the cycle of investment, a highly skilled labour pool, more jobs and the resultant economic wealth that has been witnessed in the sector over the last few years.

The event will provide a platform for the sector's businesses to present their skills and expertise, network with potential suppliers, customers and partners, and share experiences of successes and of overcoming challenges.

Simon Coward, Chief Executive of Hethel Engineering Centre, said: "The engineering and manufacturing sector is blossoming in this region".

"That's due in part to the vibrant motorsport industry and the world-class skills base in the region".

"On the other hand, it is also due to the strong support for the sector provided by the East of England Development Agency, the county and district councils and other agencies like the Learning and Skills Council, Business Link and Manufacturing Advisory Service".

"It's important that the members of these sectors in our region come together to share experiences and offer advice to each other".

"Through a cohesive effort we can keep the region at the leading edge of engineering and manufacturing excellence, thereby generating more jobs and economic wealth".

"I'm very much hoping EAME 2007 is the first of an annual event at the forefront of that effort".

EAME 2007 will feature seminars, stands, exhibits and a networking forum as well as advice from the sector's support organisations.

It will also see the opening of a cutting-edge machining equipment showroom and training facility, and a state of the art injection moulding equipment training centre.

Delegates at the free event will be able to view examples of world-class engineering and manufacturing from the region, including Lotus sportscars and concept cars, a prototype electric Tesla Roadster, a Van Diemen Formula Ford racer, a pre-production Mosler supercar and a racing hovercraft from the University of Hertfordshire.

EAME 2007 at Hethel Engineering Centre is free to attend but numbers are restricted and entry is by ticket only.
