Scada software takes on smaller networks

Hexatec has unveiled the latest version of its best selling Scada software, Scan 1000 OPC.

For the first time it includes an OPC server allowing it to act as a satellite to other DCS, HMI and Scada systems.

Scan 1000 OPC is a fully functional Scada system designed for small, medium, stand-alone and small network applications.

It is a well-established product, widely used for validation systems in healthcare, pharmaceutical and other applications where compliance records are required.

It provides a direct upgrade path for existing users with a host of new features including a more powerful HMI graphics package that is really simple to use.

Upgraded communication features enable users to create web page views of real-time data and event driven email or SMS messaging.

Additional options available include spreadsheets that allow users to undertake complex calculations.

Different views of real-time data can be defined using the wide variety of display options and charting features.

The new software provides database integration with business processes allowing users to integrate it with any other industrial software and back office applications, such as Access and SQL.

It offers total integration of ordering, production resource, quality audit trails, material usage etc.

It also aids communication by providing on-line data remotely to desktops at no additional cost using a web browser.

Hexatec has included free analysis features within the Scan 1000 OPC package.

This allows users to view large amounts of historical data as trend graphs on the screen, zoom in and out, prepare charts, such as x-y plots and pie charts, and identify areas of interest before copying them into Excel for further analysis.
