Heyco has added to its established range of diverse security seals with the introduction of four new styles - Mini Jaw-Lock, Smooth-Lock, Rib-Lock and Light-Lock.

Plastic components and cable accessories supplier Heyco has added to its established range of diverse security seals with the introduction of four new styles - Mini Jaw-Lock, Smooth-Lock, Rib-Lock and Light-Lock.

The seals provide visual evidence of tampering and are supplied with unique serial numbers for audit traceability.

Mini Jaw-Lock was developed for applications in the airline industry and is approved by US Customs and Border Protection.

The seal's small strap diameter enables it to be used in applications with small sealing apertures such as securing airline duty free trolleys during transit.

It can also be applied on automatic teller machines.

Mini Jaw-Lock is easy to install and remove with a simple twist action that requires no tooling.

Smooth-Lock is a smooth strap seal that is more comfortable to use and easy to handle than conventional strap designs, which typically feature jagged edges.

The products design incorporates a side tear-off tag making the seal simple to remove without the need for tooling.

"A weakness of some plastic seals is that they are vulnerable to sabotage".

"For example some plastic seals can be removed by softening the plastic locking mechanism (say with a hairdryer)".

"Once the container has been accessed, the seal could then be replaced without showing any obvious signs of being tampered with", explains Andrew Fletcher, Technical Director, Heyco (UK).

"Both Mini Jaw-Lock and Smooth-Lock features an integral stainless steel locking mechanism, which provides an extra high level of security".

"Even if the plastic is tampered with, the steel lock remains solid and secure".

Rib-Lock is a plastic seal designed with teeth on each side of the strap to prevent incorrect insertion into the buckle, and to provide additional grip.

Protective sides along the teeth make the seal more comfortable and easier to handle than similar designs.

Rib-Lock features a side tear-off tag that requires no tooling for removal and is approved by US Customs and Border Protection.

Rib-Lock and Smooth-Lock seals are suited to lightweight applications including courier and postal bags, security containers, cash bags and hospital waste disposal.

Light-Lock has a lightweight strap that is quick and easy to break in an emergency making it ideal for regulated emergency devices such as fire extinguishers.

The strap design enables up to 30 locking position for flexibility of application.
