Calibration assures essential measurements

A Hitek product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Apr 6, 2007

Despite the importance of accurate measurement, many companies and laboratories are not getting their equipment calibrated regularly enough.

Engineers, technicians and scientists are relying too heavily on the continuing accuracy of their temperature-measuring equipment.

So says Martin Kulin of Hitek (formerly Hitek Calibration Services).

Despite the importance of accurate measurement, many companies and laboratories are not getting their equipment calibrated regularly enough.

In many applications and production processes, variations in temperature can make the critical difference between success and failure.

Says Kulin: "Modern equipment is highly accurate, but things can still go wrong".

"When temperature measurement is crucial, it makes sense to have all measuring and monitoring equipment checked on a regular basis".

Hitek Calibration Division offers a mobile testing facility, which can calibrate equipment such as thermistors, thermocouples, thermohydrographs and digital thermometers at the customer's premises, so avoiding unnecessary equipment downtime.
