HID has appointed Richard Mills as its new business sales engineer.

Richard has worked with inverters since 1969, when he worked with the very early transistor spindle drives.

His remit is to develop new and emerging markets as well as to exploit the opportunities for Hitachi's advanced automation products including AC inverters, interfaces (HMIs) and PLCs.

Richard began his career with TASC drives, where he worked his way up to the position of sales manager.

He moved on to GEOAcoustics, where he held the role of sales director and then later acted as an independent agent for US flowmeter manufacturer Accusonic, where his brief was to develop worldwide business.

Wishing to return to a team environment, Richard joined HID having been attracted by the company's sales policy, which is governed by the provision of technical know-how and very high levels of service.
