Hirschmann Electronics has introduced the R-VIP T video server for live video and audio transmission, using TCP/IP, over Ethernet or the Internet The server is designed to provide complete video, audio and control data over Ethernet in harsh industrial environments, and also enables web-based management over the Internet

With an operating temperature range of 0-55C, the compact, DIN-rail mountable R-VIP T is ideal for remote monitoring, traffic assessment, and control and documentation of manufacturing processes.

The R-VIP T supports multicasting, enabling simultaneous video and audio transmission to multiple receivers over the same network.

The new server supports ITU-T standard H.323, enabling full colour, high-resolution (704 x 576pixel) video images to be transmitted at up to 30 images per second, in addition to providing compatibility with video-conferencing systems.

The video stream is available for viewing using either an Internet browser or any networked PAL/NTSC monitor (with supplied decoder software).

The new server can be combined with Hirschmann's video or video/audio transmitters (VIP-V TxC or VIP-AV TxC) and video or video/audio receivers (VIP-V RxC or VIP-AV RxC) to form a completely matched fully integrated video and audio monitoring network.

A transparent bidirectional serial interface (RS232/RS422/RS485) provides a data channel for remote control of external equipment, such as pan-and-tilt camera heads or zoom lenses.

In addition, an alarm input enables an automatic connection to be established between the server and a remote location, based on an external event or trigger; a video ring memory records alarm prehistories up to 5min prior to the alarm.

The R-VIP T, through its included management system, can be configured quickly using a web browser; it also provides the capability for complete remote control of all internal functions via UDP/IP.

The new server is supplied with an integral fast Ethernet interface (10/100Base-T), as well as switching inputs and outputs for external sensors and devices.

The R-VIP T operates at 24V DC, and is fully compliant with industry standards for EMI/RFI.

It is completely compatible with the Hirschmann rail line of industrial Ethernet devices.

Pricing for the R VIP-T Video Server starts at $1740.

Delivery is from stock.
