Hirschmann Electronics has published a new brochure dedicated to industrial Ethernet redundancy This 8-page leaflet, entitled "Maximum reliability using HIPER-Ring", explains all about Hirschmann's HIPER-Ring (Hirschmann Industrial Performance Redundant Ethernet Ring) which is based on the concept of the spanning tree protocol, where switches and hubs are connected in a fibre optic ring rather than a star or bus topology

In the case of malfunctions in the data network, for instance cable breaks, full network availability is restored within 500ms.

In this way the industrial demands of high network availability are always ensured.
