At this year's Instrumentation show in Aberdeen, Hirschmann Electronics introduced the new Eagle system - the world's first industrial security router/firewall.

The Eagle family products contain state-of-the-art security technology: the industrial firewall/VPN appliance provides authentication, validation and enables encrypted communication within production networks, and access into office or company wide networks.

Using the Eagle system, for example, it is possible to straightforwardly and easily realise remote maintenance access for production plant.

Additionally the systems comply with all relevant industrial standards and can be mounted on DIN rails.

Running on the industrial standard power supply of 24V DC, the Eagle also features remote, out of band access which is catered for using the built in V.24 port, and redundancy is managed using Hirschmann's rapid redundant ring coupling as well as traditional dual homing.
