The Equivital remote physiological monitoring system can now be used in medical applications after it gained CE medical device standard ISO 13485-2003 in accordance with directive 93/42/EEC.

This means it can be used in a hospital or home as part of a telehealth method of monitoring long term conditions such as chronic heart failure (CHF) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Hidalgo's Equivital is a wearable, physiological system that provides continuous real time visibility of an individual's vital signs.

These include heart rate, electrocardiogram (ECG), respiration rate, temperature, body position, blood oxygen saturation, impact and fall detection.

Equivital can be integrated with a range of other point-in-time measurement systems including weigh-scales and blood-pressure monitors.

Data can be recorded onto an integral memory card or communicated over a wireless network to a patient-monitoring screen or from an access point at a patient's home, enabling it to be viewed by a healthcare professional over the internet.

Equivital can be used in telehealth, first responder and paramedic applications, occupational welfare, sports performance analysis and physical endurance research.
