PowerEx connectors are easy to install, robust and suitable for applications with both control and power equipment.

Hawke International has released connectors for high power ranges The PowerEx series is designed to complement the existing ControlEx and InstrumEx connectors for the oil and gas industries

The new connectors are easy to install, robust and suitable for applications with both control and power equipment.

Main applications for ControlEx and PowerEx will be in the hook-up, servicing, repair and replacement of modules and other key equipment in oil and gas exploration, production and processing.

PowerEx connectors are designed to meet the demands of applications up to 780A.

Models are available with one to four contacts and with conductors ranging from 50 to 630mm2.

Typical high-power applications will include connections to generator sets, high-power motors and power infrastructure.

ControlEx connectors are designed for medium-power applications up to 660V/125A.

The bodies can hold up to 60 contacts and can accommodate up to 35mm2 cores.

Typical medium power applications will include valves, dampers, actuators and medium-power motors.

The InstrumEx connector is designed for low-power applications and is ATEX and IECEx-compliant.

This allows live connection and disconnection of circuits in zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 applications.

Hawke cable glands, which allow secure clamping of all wire armour and braided cable types, are integral to the design of all connectors.

All connectors have heavy-duty, maintenance-free, nickel-plated brass or stainless steel shells to give ingress protection to IP66/67 and DTS01 and include models for in-line and bulkhead applications.

A keying system is incorporated, to prevent possible misconnection and safeguard the contacts from damage.

Reliable, low-resistance connections are ensured by the use of Multilam technology, which requires less force to engage or disengage the gold-plated multi-pin connections.

Hawke also offers a connector assembly service and is able to supply connectors pre-terminated for an even simpler plug and play installation.
