A new, highly robust, series of flange-mount Hall effect sensors is now available from Hamlin Electronics Europe.

A new, highly robust, series of flange mount Hall effect sensors is now available from Hamlin Electronics Europe.

The 55140 series has been developed to provide exceptional performance even when used in the harshest environments.

Its versatile design makes it suitable for a broad range of industrial applications.

Hamlin designed the flange mount sensors using Hall effect technology developed by Micronas.

Because of its solid state, Hall effect sensing technology is able to provide an almost immeasurable number of switching operations.

The sensors are ideal for applications including position and limit sensing, rotational speed measurement, flow metering and angle sensing and for use as a magnetic encoder.

They are extremely durable and can be used in the most arduous environments where they will operate in both static and dynamic magnetic fields.

Ideal for high-speed applications, the sensors can operate at switching speeds up to 10kHz.

They are available in a range of formats including digital switch, digital latch or programmable analogue.

The digital switching sensors are offered with a choice of two operating sensitivities and either three-wire voltage or two-wire current outputs.

The sensitivity of the analogue sensor can be programmed.

This is a feature particularly useful in applications where the distance between the sensor and actuator may vary from product to product during manufacture or where a particularly accurate output is required.

Reverse and overvoltage protection are built into the sensors and they also automatically compensate for changes in temperature.

The devices are shock resistant to 150g at 11ms, half-sinewave and vibration resistant to 50g at 50-2000Hz.
