With the addition of CompoNet to the Anybus family, HMS will provide products for all four CIP networks.

HMS Industrial Networks is developing CompoNet-compatible products, expanding its family of interchangeable Anybus communications modules with embedded CompoNet interfaces.

HMS already supports 18 different fieldbuses and four different industrial Ethernet technologies.

"We have 650 device manufacturers worldwide that standardised on our Anybus concept for industrial communication".

"Now all these vendors can also get easy access to the CompoNet technology for their products" says Nicolas Hassbjer, Chief Executive Officer of HMS.

"We recognise the growing success of CompoNet among global OEMs and machine builders and for us it is important to provide our customers with a solution for instant CompoNet connectivity".

CompoNet provides users with a bit-level network to control small, high-speed machines and the Common Industrial Protocol (CIPT) Network services to connect to the plant and the enterprise.

CompoNet suits applications using large numbers of simple sensors and actuators by providing high-speed communication with configuration tools and combining this with efficient construction, simple set-up and high availability, all on a single network.

With the addition of CompoNet to the Anybus family, HMS will provide products for all four CIP networks.

"The inclusion of CompoNet into the HMS product range is another sign of industry adoption of CompoNet, both within Europe, where HMS is headquartered and globally", according to Katherine Voss, Executive Director of ODVA.
