Multiple exhaust dam aids weld gas flow
Huntingdon Fusion Techniques has developed a multiple exhaust dam concept which can be used with its product range covering 50-150mm.
Huntingdon Fusion Techniques has developed a multiple exhaust dam concept which can be used with its product range covering 50-150mm.
The exhaust can be opened or closed to offer welders the option of increasing purge gas flow rates and vent pressures to suit specific applications without interrupting the pipe-dam seal.
The opportunity to increase flow rates allows the user to compensate for purge gas losses through joint gaps prior to welding.
Advantages have been noted already by pharmaceutical and biomedical industry users who have reported even cleaner weld roots than when using standard dams.
Dam ends can be removed from the umbilical connections and this allows specialised arrangements to be used when welding, for example, different diameter or swaged pipes or T configurations.
