Horstmann Controls, the Bristol based manufacturer of domestic heating controls and advanced electricity meters, has announced a management buyout.

Horstmann Controls, the Bristol based manufacturer of domestic heating controls and advanced electricity meters, has announced a management buyout.

Previously part of the Roxspur Group PLC, the Horstmann buyout has been orchestrated by a five-man management team headed by Managing Director, Les Woolner.

The buyout comes less than a year after the company moved into a brand new, state of the art, 4,500m2 facility in South Bristol.

As part of this move, Horstmann has also seen a huge investment in equipment, improved production lines and world class operational processes, designed to give the company the opportunity to expand its capabilities.

The management buyout, coupled with this recent investment, indicates the confidence that the management has in the UK and emerging international markets for its products and services.

Les Woolner, who will remain as Managing Director, said, 'We are delighted that this buyout has been accepted.

We believe that we have the finest facilities in the country and, with opportunities increasing in both the domestic controls and utilities markets, we look forward to expanding the company to help our customers gain further business." Originally a family owned company, designing and producing innovative products for over 150 years, Horstmann Controls was brought into the Roxspur Group in April 1998, as part of the then Clayhithe Group.
